Thank you. ebayers please be aware of fake e-mails The following information is designed to help genuine ebayers from being conned by scam e-mails - please read for you protection. I would like to pass on some advice that was sent to me which you may find of help.Ebay has in the past received some bad press reports due to outsiders conning sellers and buyers into passing on their details through e-mails i.e. “your account is about to expire†or “your account needs updating†and “unauthorised access has been made on your accountâ€. The con works by you clicking on a link in the e-mail and entering either your account password or credit card details and then they have access to your account. These e-mails look genuine but are fake. Only ever access your account directly via the ebay or paypal website. Should you receive any of these e-mails please do not enter details but forward them to “spoof@ebay.co.uk" or “spoof@paypal.co.uk" respectively. They will look into them and respond to you. I hope you find this of use, if so please feel free to copy this information and pass it onto other ebay users.
